He has received recognition and awards for his leadership and his help developing the innovation economy in the Tampa Bay region from the Tampa Bay Technology Forum and the Florida Economic Development Council. Chris Paradies serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Tampa Bay Innovation Center, which operates the TEC Garage incubator, providing professional mentoring for entrepreneurs in the Tampa Bay region. So, he knows the needs of small businesses and growing innovative businesses. He offers free IP expertise at meetups to help startups and is an author and speaker on innovation.
Paradies served as Chair of the Advanced Medicine & Human Performance Sector at the Tampa Bay Partnership from 2011 – 2013, after serving as Vice Chair of the Tampa Bay Technology Forum (tbtf).
He was the Intellectual Property Team Leader and Shareholder at the Fowler White Boggs law firm in Tampa from 2004 to 2013, and he has operated his own firm for the past 5 years, while serving the region's innovative startups, entrepreneurs and growing small businesses.
Chris Paradies earned his bachelor of science degree at West Point, a Ph.D. in Materials Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and his law degree summa cum laude at the Jacob D. Fuchsberg Touro Law Center.
He received the 2014 Heroes at Work award from the Tampa Bay Business Journal, was selected as the Tampa Bay Region Volunteer of the Year Awardee in 2014 by the Florida Economic Development Council (FEDC). He was selected Outstanding Leadership Finalist for the 2011 Industry Achievement Awards by the Tampa Bay Technology Forum (tbtf).
